Sunset

Cindy passed away peacefully on Monday August 3rd 2009. She was surrounded by family; her husband Howard, and oldest son Wesley, held her hands. Her funeral will be held Thursday August 6th, at 2:00 pm in her beloved church.
Cindy had completed her final blog, but we are unable to locate it at this time. We will post the blog as soon as we can.
Thanks to all of you for your continued prayers and well wishes.

I am so sorry that your sweet wife and dear mother is no longer on this earth. There is no doubt where she is, and because of that I know you hold onto hope. But, during this time our mourning, I know you are aching to see and hold her again now. For that, I am so, so, sorry. Continue clinging to one another as I know you are and above all lean on our Lord. Your are all in my prayers.

I hope you don't mind me using this to send my condolences to your family. I only recently found your mother's blog through Cindy Bodie's blog. In that short time, I could see what a strong believer she was, how very much she loves her family, and what a difficult battle she was facing. As an adoptive mother of five and the mother of eight, I appreciate her mother's heart for adoption also.

I send my deepest sypathy to each of you. I pray for vivid memories of your wife and mother in your hearts always. I think of Paul telling the Philippians that he longed to be in two places, heaven and with them. I know how much your wife and mother would have wanted to remain on with you. I'm certain she lived life in so many ways that proved so daily to each of you. I grieve with you that God did not choose that way for your family. May you feel His presence in a new way.

I am a homeschooling mom of nine in Iowa who was directed to Cindy's blog just in the last few weeks. Our whole family is praying for all of you, as we know that Cindy's freedom from pain and joy in heaven also brings hurt to you all. No doubt she is already hard at work in heaven, pestering Jesus to take special care of you all-and of course, he will!

God Bless you all and know that even the hearts of strangers (your brothers and sisters in Christ-out in blog world) are with you all in every moment.

May the peace of Christ, which surpasses ALL understanding, guard your hearts today and always-

Oh my. I just found out of Cindy's passing. I have been following her blog for quite some time now and have been amazed by her strength and courage. From what I saw she could find the good in any situation. Her faith and love for her Heavenly Father is inspiring. I pray that you and her children as well as beloved family and friends find peace and comfort in knowing that she is no doubt in heaven no longer hurting or struggling. She is with her Lord and Saviour. You will see her again. Just hang on to her memories and each other and God will see you through. She loved her family so much. She will be missed.

I have appreciated Cindy's wise words over the years on various Yahoo groups in the adoption community. What a blessing she was! We are praying for your family--that you will feel God's arms tightly around you. "He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young." Isaiah 40:11
